CBBStreams grew out of the college basketball corner of the Reddit stream communities. Here is what happened to it and the legal routes to the NCAA season.

CBBStreams began life as the college basketball equivalent of the large Reddit stream communities, a place where users posted links to feeds of NCAA Division I games each night.
College basketball was a natural fit for that model. The sport plays several hundred games a week across dozens of conferences, and no single legal service has ever carried all of it in one place.
When Reddit removed the sport-specific stream communities, the traffic moved to standalone aggregator sites reusing the same names. That is the version most people find today, and it has no connection to the original community.
The original Reddit stream communities were shut down for repeated copyright violations. Reddit removed r/nbastreams, which had more than 400,000 subscribers, in August 2019 after sustained takedown pressure, per The Daily Dot and Sports Illustrated.
The college equivalents went the same way. What carries these names now are independent aggregator sites, rotating domains, with no community moderation and a much more aggressive advertising stack.
Coordinated domain seizures have since become routine across the whole category, per TorrentFreak.
The sticker price is zero. The real cost shows up in four places, and every one of them is worse during a game you care about.

College basketball is the hardest sport in this list to follow legally, because the rights are split across conference networks. It is still entirely doable, and cheaper in March than people expect.

On basketballstreams.com the fixtures, live scores, standings, head-to-head records and form data across 36 leagues are free and need no account. The live video sits with a licensed operator, either Bet365 or Stake depending on which one holds a licence where you are, and unlocking it takes a funded account rather than a subscription.
